A civic organisation is busy beautifying and breathing life into green spaces in the neighbourhood.
The Kirstenhof and Environs Association (KERA) has adopted various fields and parks in the area, and the group wants residents and businesses to get involved.
The Bulletin met up with Kera chairman Barry Tranter and committee member Louise Kinrade on the corner of Jupiter and Sterlig roads alongside the M3, where gardener, Frederick Lucius, was already at work pruning out pioneer bushes and preparing to replant with lower maintenance plants when the weather cools down.
He said he had been working there since 2015 and the only problem was the mole holes.
Natalie Hart, from Bright Light Montessori, said she donated money annually to the project as she did not have time to do any gardening herself.
Ms Kinrade said some pensioners were looking after a small area in Chelsea Crescent, and Angelo Brown had taken over Chard Road Park in Norfolk Estate, which had been neglected and plagued by petty thefts. However, the play park had now been fenced, it had flower beds, cameras had been put up and a security company kept watch.
Ms Kinrade said residents could help with watering, weeding, planting and clearing alien vegetation. Contact Kirstenhofera@gmail.com for details.
