Zip Zap Circus and South African band Freshlyground will share the stage in a new production titled Take Me Home, running at the Artscape Opera House from Friday, November 14 to Sunday November 16.
The show combines live music and circus performance, offering audiences a mix of acrobatics, choreography, and music.
Five performances are scheduled:
Saturday, 15 November at 2pm and 7.30pm
Sunday, 16 November at 1pm and 5pm
Zip Zap co-founder and CEO Laurence Estève said the collaboration celebrates South African creativity and unity. “Freshlyground’s music has always carried the nation’s spirit of unity and joy,” she said. “Bringing their sound into the world of circus performance elevates the show into something magical.”
The production also marks a new chapter for Freshlyground, now led by vocalist Mbali Makhoba. The six-member ensemble will perform reimagined versions of their popular hits as part of the live show.
Founded in 1992, Zip Zap Circus works with more than 3,000 young people each year through nine free training and outreach programmes that teach both circus and life skills. Proceeds from Take Me Home will help sustain these initiatives.
Tickets are available through Webtickets, with group and bulk booking options for schools, corporates, and community groups.
