Thomas Knemeyer, Constantia
Nobody in their right mind cannot feel sad about the slow and painful death of the female baboon who died on March 29 in Rhodes Drive, Constantia (“Baboon put down after shooting,” Bulletin, April 13), but having a fully-grown baboon enter your house is also unacceptable.
We have all seen pictures of these animals invading your property and trashing your kitchen. The baboon activists are once again deluding themselves if they think anyone will ever be prosecuted for the shooting.
This troop has to be removed from the southern suburbs, just like others in the peninsula.
Driving through the Karoo recently it was obvious to me that the baboons, all of them, would be far better off on a big farm without people. It could easily be done - problem solved. The only people sorry to see them go would be tourists who think it's hilarious to feed them at Cape Point.
