Carmen Siebritz, Ward 63 councillor
What an exciting morning in the ward. I visited all secondary schools to meet, greet and congratulate pupils, parents and teachers at the six schools in the ward on Friday January 19.
Together we cried tears of anxiety, disappointment and joy, but most of all we celebrated winners. Whether the pupils were successful or not, they are winners, in my opinion. They're winners just by sitting for the matric exam.
At least 99% of pupils who were unsuccessful qualify for the supplementary exam.
As said to all, the world is your oyster. Take it with both hands and keep, keeping on. You only fail when you don't try.
