Jeremy Thornewill, Kenilworth
On Monday morning March 11, my wife, in her early 80s, was walking with friends in the Alphen Green Belt.
On their way back to the cars in the Alphen car park, between Avenue Le Sueur and the carpark, my wife and her friend stopped to let the other two catch up.
When she turned back towards the car park she saw this rather big young dog bounding boisterously towards her and without stopping it leapt up, putting its front paws on her shoulders, knocking her to the ground.
Its owner, a middle-aged man in his late 60s, or thereabouts, offered to help my wife to her feet, but she was in such shock and agony in her right leg that she asked to be left alone. Her friends were joined by two very kind young ladies and then a young man who carefully helped move her into the shade.
In the kerfuffle the man and his dog left the scene. An ambulance was called and my wife was taken to hospital.
I would be very grateful if the owner of the dog would contact me, or the editor of the Constantiaberg Bulletin.
