This Women’s Month, comedian Wayne McKay brings his stand-up show AfriSnaaks back to the stage at the Artscape Innovation Lounge from Wednesday, August 20 to Saturday, August 23.

Presented by Vulture Productions in association with Mr McKay, the show is a sharp, unfiltered celebration of the Afrikaans language in all its forms - from Afrikaaps to formal.

Mr McKay’s storytelling draws inspiration from the Cape Flats and beyond, reflecting the nuances of South African society.

This season introduces a brand-new character, Wymoenah Khan - a bold, streetwise and unapologetically funny auntie with her take on life, love and surviving in modern-day Mzansi.

“Audiences can expect to laugh, relate, and maybe even rethink how they see language, identity, and community,” said Mr  McKay. “Wymoenah Khan adds a whole new flavour to AfriSnaaks - she’s fierce, she’s funny, and she’s full of surprises.”

Directed by theatre-maker Jeremeo Le Cordeur, AfriSnaaks uses comedy to celebrate the richness of Afrikaans and the cultural nuances of its speakers.

No under-16s allowed. The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at Webtickets
