Kommetjie siblings impresses on international stage

fuad Esack|Published 4 months ago

Strongmen... Kommetjie’s Reuben Jansen van Rensburg, 22, left, and his younger brother Timeon, 18.

The Jansen van Rensburg brothers, Reuben, 22, and Timeon, 18, from Kommetjie, recently made their mark on the international strongman stage, with impressive performances at the Africa’s Strongest Man & Woman 2024, held in Rustenburg in the North West Province.

Reuben dominated the under-80kg Pro-Am division, claiming the coveted titles of South Africa’s Strongest Man and Africa’s Strongest Man.

His younger brother, Timeon, who currently holds the Junior Africa Log Press record of 105kg, proved to be a force to reckon with in the under-90kg Novice Division, earning second place in SA’s Strongest Man and third place in Africa’s Strongest Man sections.

The brothers say they are proud advocates of clean sport and are proof of what can be achieved through dedication, discipline and a doping-free approach to strength training.
