Water supply disruption to a large part of Constantia
The City of Cape Town’s water and sanitation department is attending to a pipe burst on the Alphen Trail greenbelt, Constantia.
They say the water supply was shut off shortly after it was reported to allow the 300mm pipe to drain to enable the crew to work safely.
The burst pipe is off the roadway which requires the use of an excavator to complete the repairs but water supply is anticipated to be restored by 6pm.
A water tanker will be stationed at the Alphen Centre to provide water for domestic use. Residents are requested to ensure that their taps are closed during this period to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.
