Constantia boy reunited with his bike
Four year-old Finley Neil is thrilled to have his bicycle back so that he can continue to do bunny hops and other tricks.
“Finley is bike crazy. He rides his bicycle morning, noon and night and often joins us on our morning runs through the neighbourhood,” says his mother, Ashleigh Neil.
The bike went missing on Tuesday June 15 on a family outing to the Grootboschkloof Trail. In the commotion of loading everyone back in the car afterwards they did not realise that they had left Finley’s most prized possession on the pavement. And they only realised it was missing the next morning when they wanted to go for a morning run. They went back to look for it but there was no sign of the bike. They contacted the neighbourhood watch who told them the bike had been handed in at Kirstenhof police station, but it was not there.
The Constantia Valley Information Centre monitoring centre team tracked it down after two Fidelity ADT armed response officers handed it in to Wynberg police.
Finley insisted that his parents track down the two officers as he wanted to thank them by giving them his favourite food, pizza, and some energy drinks.
