Watch campaign

Staff Reporter|Published

The Bergvliet Kreupelbosch Meadowridge Watch has acquired a bakkie and hired a former police detective to help with neighbourhood patrols and respond to calls for help. BKM Watch spokesman John Jackson said the watch ran a campaign to get the response vehicle because many families did not have time to patrol the neighbourhood. “We are not going to respond to alarms - that’s the job of the alarm companies - but we will be available to any resident that needs help while we are on duty,” he said. However the watch needed more support from the community, he said. For more information, email office@bkmwatch.org.za
