An Italian fridge has triggered a bidding war that could see it sell for R1.3m. The brightly coloured appliance has been hand-painted by Sicilian artists and is one of 100 retro art fridges created in collaboration with Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana. Salesperson Najmuni Saa Manuel says staff at the recently opened Hirsch’s Smeg concept store in Constantia Old Village do not know the identity of the two prospective buyers of the Smeg FAB28 Frigorifero D'Arte, but it has been well received by the community.
