Diep River tattoo fund-raiser for SPCA

A Diep River tattoo studio will bring animal lovers together for the third annual Tats 4 Tails event.

Tattoo artists such as Craig Lucas are returning to support the Cape of Good Hope SPCA at the Primal Culture Tattoo Studio from Monday January 24 to Monday January 30.

Well-known Capetonians inked by the studio’s Clinton Naidoo over the past two events include Zoe Brown, Tanya Nefdt, Ryan Botha and Simon Orgill.

For the first time, pre-booking registrations will be open, according to SPCA spokeswoman Belinda Abraham. If you book, you will be sent a tattoo voucher that you can personalise as a gift for someone else.

Ms Abraham said it cost the SPCA an average of R100 a day to care for a shelter animal. With all the proceeds from the event going to the SPCA, one 7cm x 7cm tattoo could cover that cost for a single animal for a week, she said.

Mr Naidoo said he had been helping the SPCA in various ways since 1992. “I was privileged to host the first Tats for Tails tattoo-a-thon in 2019… I see this as my way of giving back to the animals.”
