Open garden at Soil for Life

Soil for Life held its first open garden for the year at its resource centre in Brounger Road, Constantia, on Saturday.

Soil for Life’s organic gardeners gave talks and demonstrations on trench beds and an introduction to growing cannabis and potted herbs. There was also information about composting, feeding the soil, hidden “treasures” in the garden, water-wise gardening methods and growing sprouts and micro-greens.

Philippa Clemo from Constantia Hills won a herb planter box filled with a variety of herbs, and a voucher to attend a food-gardening workshop, in a raffle.
