Library milestone

Meadowridge library is 62 years old this year, according to the City of Cape Town. The library originally opened in a large room above a shopping centre in 1960 and moved to its present location a decade later. The membership has grown from 400 in 1960 to 3 486 today, and from July 1 last year to October 31 this year, 49 975 items from the library were circulated.
