More than 2000 people took part in Kirstenhof Primary School’s 40th annual fun run on Saturday March 9.

Pupils, their families and the wider community took part in a 3km run followed by a school fete that included a variety of games as well as food, craft and charity stalls.

“At Kirstenhof Primary, we foster the spirit of community and belonging through our various annual events which rest on the foundation of parent and child involvement. When children know they belong, they will feel valued for who they are," said school principal Stuart Payne.

Yolande Shean, chairperson of the parent-teacher association, which organises the event, said they had a team of 45 parent and teacher volunteers "who give huge amounts of time to the school and encourage participation across the school community. We also have grade leaders and class representatives who dedicate a lot of time to supporting school initiatives".
