Judy Moolenschot’s painting Relationships.
A retired art teacher from Noordhoek is looking for one of her paintings, which went missing after an exhibition at a deli.
Judy Moolenschot, a former private art teacher in Constantia, exhibited her painting, Relationships, at Chardonnay Deli Constantia in November last year.
The exhibition featured works by Ms Moolenschot and her art group, The Heap, which meets every Wednesday morning at a hall in Tokai to draw, paint and create art.
The group was formed by her former students and takes its name from the many compost heaps in the area.
Ms Moolenschot said a close friend had collected the group's paintings on Saturday November 30, following the close of the exhibition. However, her painting went missing after being collected.
She said her painting had definitely been collected and it was possible that someone might have “nicked” it while her friend was loading the paintings that day.
"My friend feels terrible about what happened and went back to the deli immediately when she noticed it was gone, but it wasn't there," she said.
Ms Moolenschot said she would like to find the painting as someone in the retirement village where she lives had expressed interest in buying it.
