A TARGETED crime prevention operation by the Springbok Public Order Police B-Platoon has led to the arrest of two suspected drug dealers in Bergsig and along the N7 highway near Nababeep.
The arrests took place during routine vehicle and foot patrols in hot-spot areas as officers intensified their efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the region.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), a 33-year-old man was apprehended in Bergsig after being found in possession of mandrax tablets. Meanwhile, a 46-year-old man was arrested at a hiking spot on the N7 road after officers discovered tik with an estimated street value of R10,000 in his possession. The suspects were arrested on February 16 and 17.
Both suspects are expected to appear in the Springbok Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of drug dealing.
