All Saints Church in Plumstead, established in 1908, has been a cornerstone of the community for more than a century. The church celebrated its centenary in 2008 with a series of events, including the publication of a colourful and informative book that captured its rich history and the many activities enjoyed by its congregation over the years.

For more than 117 years, the church has remained true to its mission: to be a Christian family where God’s love, forgiveness and salvation are shared freely, barriers between people are broken down, and every member is encouraged to develop a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Church member Winnie Craythorne fondly recalls her time helping to care for the church.

“During the rectorship of Father Chisholm, while I was vacuuming the church, the vacuum cleaner caught alight,” she said.

“A few weeks later, Father Chisholm found me and joked that he had heard I was starting a fire in the church,” she said.
