Bellville library has been temporarily closed following a cable theft that left the building without electricity, the City said.
According to the City’s Library and Information Services, the closure came into effect on Monday, December 29 and will remain in place until Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Repair work is currently underway to replace the stolen cables and ensure that the facility is safe for public use before reopening.
In the meantime, residents and library patrons have been advised to make use of nearby libraries, including those in Tygervalley, Brackenfell, Kraaifontein, Durbanville and Parow.
