About 85 held placards high and chanted “save our baboons” on Saturday July 14 at Constantia Village (“Permission to hunt baboons”, Bulletin July 4).
Organised by Beauty Without Cruelty and Baboon Matters, Jenni Trethowan handed over a memorandum to Cape Party representative Yvette Huysamer. The memorandum has been signed by animal rights activists, Cape Town Unites for Animals, Beauty without Cruelty and calls for an immediate withdrawal of hunting permits issued to two Constantia wine farms, and transparency around the management of baboons in Cape Town.
