An elderly woman was attacked in her Plumstead home on Tuesday May 15 at about 1.30pm.
Diep River spokesperson Constable Zak Marais says the woman was watching television when four men forced open the front gate and door of her home in Stirling Road, which is near Royal Cape Golf Club. When the woman tried to scream the men covered her face, pulled her hair and choked her. They then ransacked the house and stole various electronic items, laptop, television and a cellphone.
The men fled in a champagne colour sedan vehicle according to witnesses on scene.
The woman is undergoing trauma counselling at Diep River police station where a case of house robbery was opened.
