Bergvliet Lions Club is calling on residents to join them in the drive to collect socks for the less fortunate before winter. About 15 000 pairs of socks have been collected so far. The collection will culminate in a “sockathon” on Human Rights Day, Monday March 21, when the socks will be laid out in a snaking line at Bergvliet High School and the length measured before being distributed to various charities.
