According to Captain Lloyd Ramovha of the Hawks, the 39-year-old Plattekloof pastor is accused of defrauding victims of millions of rands.
He is set to make his follow-up appearance in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday January 18, and is out on R100000 bail after appearing in court in September last
year.
He faces charges of fraud and contravening the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act and Banks Act after his trading company, Platinum Forex, which is not registered by the Financial Services Board, allegedly duped investors with promises of higher than normal returns on their invest-
ments.
The case is at an advanced stage with many “investors” having submitted affida-
vits.
The Hawks have urged victims to co-operate with investigators and contact Lieu-
tenant Colonel Jerome Hardenberg on 082 850 9747 or email him at HardenbergJ@saps.gov.za for appointments to depose affidavits.
