Staff Reporter|Published 3 months ago

South Peninsula High School’s former principal, Zeid Baker, who retired last year, is seen here with the school’s top matriculant, Aiden Gebbie, and the current principal, Faadiyah Myburg.

South Peninsula High School, in Diep River, achieved a 98,3% pass rate in the matric exams with 80% of matriculants getting Bachelor's passes.

Fifteen matriculants scored A passes and 38 achieved B passes.

The school's top achiever, Aiden Gebbie, scored a 91,71% aggregate with eight distinctions including 100% for pure paths.

Aiden, who has a passion for music and robotics, will be studying computer sciences at UCT this year.

The school's new principal, Faadiyah Myburgh, attributes the school’s results to hard work and perseverance by pupils and staff with support from parents.

Aiden says studying past papers helped him prepare for the exams. He thanked his family, teachers and friends for their support and advised the class of 2025 to stay focused and persevere.
