When Wasim Chellan, from Manenberg, won the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Welterweight title last October, defeating Malawian Denis Mwale, by split decision, he was given a WBF All Africa title belt by mistake. At Friday night’s showcase in Ottery, by Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions, the Brice Boxing Academy fighter was presented with the correct belt by WBF president, Howard Goldberg. Chellan, is undefeated in eight fights, with three knockouts. He said, “Winning the title was the cream of the crop. We just went there to win the fight and that was it.
